Seville to Aracena day trip

Enjoy a one-day trip to the ‘Sierra de Aracena’ and ‘Picos de Aroche’, setting off from Seville by private transport and accompanied by a local guide.

We will visit the Grotto of the Wonders in the town of Aracena. We will also take a stroll across the natural environment of the ‘Dehesa de Aracena’, which is the natural habitat of the Brave Bull and the Iberian Pig.

Our tour includes visits to some of the villages scattered across Aracena’s mountain chain, and we will be able to enjoy a splendid view over the ‘Peña de Arias Montano’. Our trip will be finished with a short visit to the ‘Rio Tinto’ Mines, where one has the vivid impression of being on another planet.

What to Expect

Our one-day trip will start at around 9:00 in the morning. We will pick you up from your accommodation in Seville or from a nearby accessible meeting point in order to start the journey along with our guide.

We will head towards the Sierra de Aracena and ‘Picos de Aroche’ in the province of Huelva in order to begin our one-day trip in the town of Aracena.

We will visit the amazing Caves of Wonders, a great natural cave full of geological formations, such as stalagmites and stalactites, which will leave you breathless.

After leaving the ‘Gruta de las Maravillas’, we will take a walk across the ‘Dehesa de Sierra Morena’, a natural setting declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, which is also the natural habitat of wild species, such as the Brave Bull or the Iberian pig. This area is also reputed for its Iberian Ham production.

It will then be time for a lunch brake so that we can enjoy the delicious gastronomy from the area in one of its bars or restaurants. As usual, customers will also be given the choice of eating their own meal if they wish to do so.

Our tour will continue along some villages in the Sierra de Aracena. We will make a brief stop at the ‘Peña de Arias Montano’ to enjoy one of the best landscapes from this natural environment.

The last stop in our tour will be made at the ‘Rio Tinto’ Mines. We will walk across a landscape where it is inevitable to have the impression of being on an alien planet. This effect is partly due to the reddish colour the stream of water takes on as it flows through the iron and copper mines.

Our visit to the ‘Rio Tinto’ Mines will be the final stage of our trip. On our journey back to Seville, we will be travelling with a full sense of satisfaction after spending a fantastic one-day trip in the heart of an astonishing natural setting. We expect to arrive in Seville at around 19:00.
