Details and Itinerary

Our local guide will help you to interpret the history that Itálica hides, with its mosaics, its hot springs or its famous amphitheater, one of the largest ones in the Roman Empire, where the famous gladiator fights took place.

We will also visit the monastery of ‘San Isidoro del Campo’, a Medieval fortress next to Italica that hides a lot of history as well as beautiful Gothic, Mudejar and Baroque treasures. Italica was the first Roman city founded in the Iberian Peninsula and the birthplace of the emperors Trajano and Adriano.

From Seville, it will take us a few minutes to arrive at this archaeological site. We will visit its ancient streets with the help of our guide, who will also give us access to this historical city with amazing mosaics, the Roman Theatre discovered in the middle of the 20th century, the ancient spas majors and its famous amphitheater, one of the majors of the Roman world where the famous fights of gladiators took place. This setting has recently been chosen for the famous TV series Game of Thrones.

After the visit to this resort we will be moving towards the Medieval monastery of San Isidoro del Campo, a Medieval fortress that hides Gothic, Mudejar and Baroque treasures. We will finish our trip next to a traditional winery in the ‘Pañoleta’, where we will taste an aperitif and some wines from the area.

Surprisingly very Interesting

Couple Traveller

We were given a meeting point in central Seville and we were one of only two couples on the tour, a lovely french couple. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgable. Italica was amazing, especially the Amphitheatre. Next stop was the Monastery, then on for some orange wine tasting. Thank you.

They picked us up at our hotel and in about 20 minutes we arrived in the city of Itálica where we started the route there we began our walk and listen to the stories that our guide told me that in my opinion is quite well informed. Thank you very much.

Nice although I expected more. Although it is true that the stories they told us made you move in time I expected more ruins and the city more standing. In my opinion the best preserved is the amphitheater where I was reminded of scenes of Game of Thrones however I expected more ruins in the city.
